- Summary
- George Chalmers (1742-1825) was a Scottish antiquarian and political writer. The papers include a notebook kept by Chalmers in the 1770s with notes on the American Colonies; several letters from Chalmers to various parties; a fragmentary manuscript draft of "Reflections on the Sinking Fund," and a treatise titled A Remedy Proposed for the Evil of Emigration, with related research notes and drafts.
