- Summary
- In response to the interviewers' questions, Stapleton speaks about the strenuous nature of her profession, whether she enjoys it or not, the parts she performed and is performing, the challenges of certain roles such as playing a 50 year old woman when she was 25 in T. William's "The Rose tattoo," her approach to preparing for a part, the ability to memorize roles, the importance of following the director's requirements regardless of her personal feelings, the technique of crying or laughing on stage, and contributions that actors bring to the character they play. She and the interviewers discuss the benefits and weaknesses of method acting, mannerisms, and gesticulation on stage.
