Summary

"Celebration" host Alan Dell presents the second program featuring the life and music of Richard Rodgers. In this program, Rodger's association with Oscar Hammerstein II is discussed. Pre-recorded interview clips with Richard Rodgers are featured in the program (Arnold Michaelis, reporter). The interview clips are interspersed with pre-recorded music clips of music selections from various works Rodgers had written with Hammerstein.

Vocalist Louanne Hogan (9th-10th works) was the actual singing voice for actress Jeanne Crain, who played Margy Frake in "State fair"--CMR

The tango tune of Victory at sea's "Beneath the Southern Cross" was recycled into the music for the song "No other love", which was used in both Broadway's "Me and Juliet" (1953) and television's "Cinderella" (1957 version)--CMR

Upon listening to the end of the second of the Richard Rodgers programs on "Celebration" (end of track 8), host Alan Dell says that Richard Rodgers will be 73 years old on his upcoming birthday. In this case, the approximate date listed on the CD container (ca. 1973) is incorrect, since Rodgers birth year is 1902. So the actual approximate year of the radio broadcast should be in 1975--CMR.
