Summary
The interview takes places on two days. During the 1st (20 minutes) Lunt speaks about the team work with his wife, Fontanne and their way of working and learning; his high opinion of Stanislavsky's method, and answers other professional questions. The next day Fontanne joins her husband and together they praise "method acting." They talk about the talent of Marlon Brando, Eli Wallach, Maureen Stapleton, Ben Gazzara, etc. They dicuss the importance of breath control and voice; their approach to the selection of a script; the process of building a part; stage skills; comedy versus drama, and more. The sound is not always very clear, and at times the volume is uneven.
