- Description
- 1 audio disc (approximately 50 min.) : digital, mono; 4 3/4 in.
- Summary
- This is only a part of an unedited interview. The complete but edited version can be read in the book "Actors talk about acting" held by LPA in MWEQ 1961. Cornell, a renowned stage actress, speaks about discipline and imagination as essential qualities for her profession; impossibility to be consistently at one's best; her regimen during performances containing difficult parts; the beginning of her acting career; her very limited formal dramatic training; her total lack of vocal and breath control training; the way she prepares her roles, and her natural talent to act without applying studied techniques and methods. She discusses some of her roles, actors she played with and actors she has seen in performances, recounts some episodes from her career, explains the reason for not having interest in reading reviews, and much more. Guthrie McClintic, Cornell's husband and frequent director, adds comments and details.
