Summary
A transcription of an account of the expeditions of Francisco Vásquez de Coronado to conquer the "Seven Cities of Cibola," the volume chronicles the journey of Coronado and his army through what is now Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, and includes descriptions of the expedition's encounters with members of the Apache, Navajo, Comanche, and Cheyenne tribes, as well as an early description of the Grand Canyon. The 1596 transcription is the earliest known copy of the lost Castañeda manuscript written in 1540.
