- Several autograph letters dating from 1854 to 1860 and four lines of manuscript verse signed by Transcendentalist poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. Letters are brief, and relate to social and speaking engagements. One letter to publisher James R. Osgood includes a list of individuals to whom Emerson wished to send inscribed copies of The Conduct of Life.
