- Summary
- Program devoted to the life and work of actress, author, and teacher Uta Hagen. Three actors who knew and worked with Hagen read from her correspondence and her diaries, and also share reminiscences of her. The quoted material touches on Hagen's relationship with Paul Robeson, who played Othello to her Desdemonia, her marriage to Herbert Berghof, with whom she co-founded the HB Studio, her experiences playing Blanche in the original touring company of A streetcar named Desire, and her experiences playing Martha in the original Broadway production of Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf? The first disc of this two-disc set contains a rehearsal of the program, taped before the audience arrived.
