- Distinguished from an earlier Arkstee & Merkus edition (Smith E.12) by the presence of accents in title page quotation (here beginning "Undè animi") and extension of table of contents in v. 1 to page xxiv, which in the earlier edition is blank and unpaged.
- The work was ordered suppressed by decree of the Conseil d'état on August 10, 1758. Condemnations of other civil and religious authorities followed, including that of the Parlement de Paris, by whose order this and other works were publicly burned on February 10, 1759.
- "Lettre au R.P.***" (tome1, pages [vij]-xix) is by C.-G. Le Roy.
- Tome premier: [4], xxiv, 365, [3] pages ; tome second: [4], iv, 383, [1] pages.
- Signatures: Tome premier: pi² *⁸ 2*⁴ A-P¹² Q⁴ (Q4 blank); tome second: pi² *² A-Q¹² (Q12v blank).
