- Pamphlet contains essay introducing 56 full-page, black-and-white photographs of annual “Art Student’s Ball” sponsored by “Art Student’s League of New York” since “the mid 1920s.” Essay places fund-raising ball in context of “turn about” balls sponsored by the French monarchs Louis XIV and Louis XV, which Napoleon cancelled and then restored.
