John Lanchbery speaks with David Vaughan about his work, as composer and arranger, with Frederick Ashton, including their collaboration on Ashton's ballet La fille mal gardée; their collaboration on Ashton's ballet Two pigeons [Deux pigeons]; how Lanchbery came to work with Ashton on La fille mal gardée; their collaboration on Ashton's ballet The dream [interview with Lanchbery ends abruptly at 16:20 into the recording; the recording resumes at approximately 16:26 with Vaughan's interview with Margot Fonteyn].
