Featuring Avery Brooks, Marie Thomas, Roslyn Ruff, Ray Ford, Johnny Lee Davenport, Charles Turner and John Douglas Thompson. Presented at the University Theatre (New Haven, Conn.). This production (with an African American cast) was set among the Olmec people, who flourished between 1200 and 400 BC in Mesoamerica, a vast terrain that includes most of present-day Mexico and the countries of Central America.
