Summary
A social drama and a morality tale exploring the black religious heritage. When a young and enthusiastic new preacher comes to town, gangster Big Jim Bottoms finds that his juke joint no longer brings in as many customers, so he arranges for the preacher to be photographed in a compromising situation with three attractive women. The juke joint owner's adoptive mother, Sister Caroline, a member of the minister's church, supports the preacher and tries to get the photographic prints.
