- Description
- 1 streaming video file (39 min.) : sound with silent sections, black and white.
- Summary
- Mikhail Baryshnikov and White Oak Dance Project perform "After Many A Summer Dies the Swan". The work consists of dance, spoken monologues, and music clips, including Tina and Ike Turner's rendition of "River Deep, Mountain High". The work was commissioned from Yvonne Rainer; it is the basis for her subsequent film. While audiovisual quality is somewhat poor from the beginning , these problems become pronounced at 25:10, where the audience and background track is no longer audible. From this point forward, there are sections with sound loss ranging from one to three minutes. At 32:33, there is video jitter and lines are visible. There is no audio during the curtain call and the recording ends with a freeze-frame.
