- Lee Edward Stern, host, on the radio program Speaking of dance, introduces his guest Cynthia Gregory; Gregory speaks about dancing her first Odette/Odile in Swan lake at American Ballet Theatre; the New York debut of her Giselle; audiences in New York compared with elsewhere including in Los Angeles; Gergory's background including her time with the San Francisco Ballet; deciding to join American Ballet Theatre after seeing the company perform; her frequent guest appearances, with Ted Kivitt; her husband, Terry Orr; changes in the company including the higher quality of the classes and the more reasonable touring schedules; the benefits that would accrue from a more permanent residency; her own dancing; technique; musicality; acting, for example in Giselle; her views on the latitude a dancer should have regarding the choreography; her hopes for the near future.
