- Summary
- "'The Little Book of Slavery' was done in tandem with a larger related book on the topic of the slave trade titled "Passage." Both books use images of the slave ship diagrams from an anti-slavery publication of 1788. During the work on both books I experimented with different processes and layering of color and texture. I was trying to use archival diagrams and photographs in a way that was consistent with the original quality of the images. In "The Little Book" the images are coupled with statistics on the economic issues of the slave trade"--Fred Hagstrom.
