- Summary
- The two catalogues published in 1989 and 2001 encompassing the works of Peter Vogt are now following the artist's death in May 2013 to be followed by two other volumes, which complete the catalogue. The first volume, which the artist was able to influence and accompany through to its layout, is devoted to his early works. The latter have scarcely been shown to date and differ so greatly from his further work, that the author Armin Zweite had the impression he was dealing with a different artist by the same name. As can be seen in both publications, until the end of his life Peter Vogt adopted a serial approach, fully exploiting each motif and changing, sometimes rather abruptly to the next one, before stagnation could set in. The second volume completes the survey of his work with the final large series of pictures, which are also sensitively discussed by the authors. Amongst other works these series include 'Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Kindheit' (In Search of the Lost Childhood), portraits, 'Le Donne', still lifes and mountain landscapes.
