Summary
2014 feiern Japan und die Schweiz das 150-jährige Bestehen ihrer diplomatischen Beziehungen. Aus diesem Anlass realisiert das Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zusammenarbeit mit der Japan Foundation das Ausstellungsprojekt Logical Emotion : Contemporary Art from Japan. Ausgehend vom konstruktiv-konkreten und konzeptuellen Erbe des Zürcher Museums kuratieren Direktorin Sabine Schaschl und Kenjiro Hosaka vom Museum of Modern Art Tokyo eine umfangreiche Gruppenausstellung zur japanischen Gegenwartskunst. Im Zentrum ihrer Präsentation stehen die Logik und ihr vermeintlicher Gegenpart: die Emotion. Dafür bedienen sich die Kuratoren aus dem Fundus verschiedenster Medien: Malerei, Installation, Video, Fotografie und Architektur bis hin zu angewandter Kunst und Manga-Zeichnungen. Neben der jüngsten japanischen Kunst werden auch international bereits bekannte Positionen gezeigt. So entsteht - ganz im Sinn des titelgebenden Oxymorons 'Logical Emotion' - ein bipolares Darstellungsspektrum, das von der allein verstandesmäßigen Erfassung der Welt bis zur rein sinnlichen Erfahrung reicht. Die beteiligten Künstler und Künstlerinnen sind: Noe Aoki, Koji Enokura, Kazunari Hattori, Akihisa Hirata, Ryoji Ikeda, Teppei Kaneuji, Yayoi Kusama, Taiji Matsue, Masayasu Mitsuke, Tatsuo Miyajima, Hiroshi Sugito, Go Watanabe und Yuichi Yokoyama.
