Summary

• Two corner-stapled typescript mimeographed sheets of yellow paper issued by the Yippies regarding their gathering in Chigago for the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
• “YIP is planning a ‘festival of life,’ an ‘international youth festival’ from Sunday, August 25 to Friday, August 30 in Chicago, Illinois. This youth festival will take place at the same time as the National Death (Democratic) Convention in Chicago. It will be a contrast in life styles. Ours will be an affirmation of life; theirs is d-e-a-t-h.”
• Lists organizers: Timothy Leary, Allen Ginsberg, Paul Krassner, Jerry Rubin, Abbie Hoffman, and many others.
• Performers include The Fugs, Phil Ochs, Country Joe and The Fish, Richie Havens, Janis Ian, and Len Chandler.
• One of the scarcest Yippie communiqués about the Festival of Life, which never occurred because of the violence that erupted during the Convention.
