• Murray Fisher was the Playboy Magazine editor responsible for the monthly interview feature, from its inception in 1962; in 1974, he left the magazine to assist Alex Haley in completing the autobiographical saga “Roots.”
• The letter begins: “Herewith the twenty-five page excerpt from the unfinished and never published Col. 2 of Books in my Life. These pages were written in 1950; naturally a great change, from the standpoint of censorship, has occurred since then.”
• Signed “HM” in blue pen.
• The word “copy” written by Miller in blue pen in top left corner.
