- Summary
- Vitriolic attack on Japanese publishers, in the form of a public letter, for not paying him the royalties on his books that he is owed, despite his numerous legal efforts to claim them through the efforts of “international lawyers.”
- Subject
- Note
- Excludes two Japanese publishers from this condemnation, saying they “have done right by me”: Kodansha and Yomiuri.
- Singles out for praise Shiro Hayasaki, the editor of the Weekly Post.
- “So, in desperation, I am making public my complaint in the hope that through some miracle I may regain a portion of the monies due me […] anywhere from one hundred to two hundred thousand dollars. […] There was a time when the Japanese were known for their honor and integrity. Let us hope there is still a little left.”
