- At the time the maps were drawn, the area was part of the British colony of East Florida. Maps show the new settlements and the abandoned fort, "New Town". The two sea charts are at a larger scale than the Amelia Island plan and show the north and south portions of Amelia Island with more details pertaining to navigation.
- Entrance to St. Mary's River chart includes inset: "A view of the entrance into St. Mary's River".
- Both sea charts include indexed key, compass rose, and rhumb lines.
- Amelia Island plan oriented with north towards the upper right. Nassau River chart oriented with north towards the upper left.
