- Note
- The moderator, who is not identified, and Frederick Ashton, Ninette de Valois, Tamara Karsavina, Enid Brunova, Hilda Butsova, Joan Van Wart, Juliet Jervison (Gervison?), Arnold Haskell, Aubrey Hitchins, and Cyril Beaumont speak about Anna Pavlova as participants in a program (apparently intended for public broadcast) entitled The swan: memories of Anna Pavlova. Their comments consist primarily of reminiscences of Pavlova. The recording also contains recordings of excerpts of music used in ballets Pavlova danced including The dying swan (by Camille Saint-Saens; accompanied by Gary Watson's narration of Cyril Beaumont's description of her performance), Giselle (by Adolphe Adam), and Autumn leaves (by Frédéric Chopin). It was not possible to confirm the spellings of the names of either the narrator in The dying swan segment or one of the speakers, namely: (phonetically) Gary Watson and Juliet Jervison/Gervison, respectively. In addition, it was not possible to confirm the names of two other people (phonetically, David Parker and Robert [unintelligible]), who were credited by the moderator as having contributed to the making of the program.
