Son art a atteint son apogée avec des improvisations calligraphiques abstraites qui évoquent souvent une image à travers le dessin du mouvement. 0Abdalla avait quitté l'Egypte en 1956 pour s'installer à Copenhague, puis à Paris où il a vécu plus de 20 ans avant de décéder en 1985.0Son opposition au régime dictatorial en Egypte, sa rébellion permanente contre la marchandisation de l'art comme de toute forme de vie, font la force de son oeuvre.0.
