- This is the third microfilm project involving material taken from the Oregon Province Archives of the Society of Jesus. The Oregon Province Archives' Indian Language Collection was microfilmed in 1976. It contains more than fifty-thousand pages of manuscripts written by Jesuit missionariesin the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. A second microfilm project was completed in 1980, detailing the activities of Society of Jesus missionaries in Alaska from 1886 to 1955 in 730 manuscripts. The microfilm edition of the Pacific Northwest Tribes Missions Collection of the Oregon Province Archives brings together an additional thirty-thousand manuscript pages prepared by Jesuit missionaries in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
