  • Compiled by The Billy Rose Theatre Division, The New York Public Library.
  • Seventeen New York newspaper and magazine reviews of Bronx Bombers by Eric Simonson. The first act of this play about the New York Yankees baseball team takes place in 1977. The second act is a fantasy, a dream Yogi Berra is dreaming in 2008 in which Yankee greats past and future appear: Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Derek Jeter, and others. There were two engagements in the same season. The first opened Oct. 8, 2013, at The Duke on 42nd Street, 229 West 42nd Street, New York, N.Y. The second opened Feb. 6, 2014, at Circle in the Square Theatre, 235 West 50th Street, New York, N.Y. The only major cast change was the actor playing Yogi Berra in the first production (Richard Topol) was replaced by Peter Scolari for the second engagement. There are six reviews of the 2013 production and eleven of the 2014 revival.
