Summary
  • Part 1. Leida Snow interviews Nick Scandalios, a Broadway theatre producer, and the executive vice president of the Nederlander Organization. Scandalios talks about the history, structure and theatrical acitivity of the Nederlander Organization, one of the largest owners of legitimate theatres in the world, as well as one of the largest theatrical producing organizations in North America. He also speaks about theater, his biggest passion, about his friends and colleagues such as James M. Nederlander or "Jimmy," Chairman of The Nederlander Organization of that time, James L. Nederlander, president of The Nederlander Organization, who leads a family business that began in 1912, and others.
  • Part 2 (00-17:22 minutes). Snow interviews Scott Ellis, American stage and television director, who talks about various productions that he directed such as the 1993 Roundabout Theatre Company production of a Broadway revival of the musical "She loves me;" and his plane to direct the play "The rainmaker" (written by N. Richard Nash in the early 1950's; that was revived on Broadway in 1999).
  • Part 2 (17:23-40:13 minutes). Snow interviews James L. Nederlander, Jr., the president of The Nederlander Organization, who talks about the work with his father, James M. Nederlanderor "Jimmy," Chairman of The Nederlander Organization of that time, and about his professsional career as operator, producer (since 1984), presenter, and a theatre owner (since 1970).
