Introductory remarks by host, Omus Hirshbein; Fred Berk speaks about the genesis of Israeli folk dance including its diverse sources; developing a program of Israeli folk dance classes at the 92nd Street Y; the creation of the dance company, Hebraica Dancers, and its holiday performances; preserving the amateur status of the company; the upcoming folk dance program at the Felt Forum; the Israeli dance festival he is planning for the centennial of the 92nd Street Y; closing remarks.
