- Paulus Kuster (ca. 1643-1707/8) was born in Rhineland, Germany, possibly at Kaldenkirchen, probably the son of Arets Kuster. He and his wife, Gertrude, were married in 1668 at Kaldenkirchen. They had at least five children, 1669-1677. The family migrated to America in 1684, with a group of Mennonites, and settled at Germantown, Pennsylvania. His grandson, Paul Custer (ca. 1710-1783), was born in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, the son of Arnold and Rebecca Custer. He and his wife, Sarah Martha Ball, had at least five children, ca. 1734-1746. Descendants and relatives listed, to 1943, lived in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. William Ball (1615-1680) was born in England and died in Pennsylvania.
