• "Esta edición...consta de doscientos ejemplares manufacturados e iluminados a mano por las Ediciones Vigía en su Colección Andante. Para su realización fueron usados papeles reciclados obtenios del bagazo de la caña del azúcar, lienzo, hilos, acrílicos y acuarelas. Cada plaquette contiene un disco con la voz de Teresita Fernández interpretando este tema y versiones de otros músicos cubanos. Los apliques que aparecen en la cubierta nacieron de las manos de Gladys Luejes. La traducción de la letra de la canción fue hecha por el amigo Wayne Grinstead"--Colophon.

• Book is constructed of a sheet of cardboard covered with beige cotton fabric, and folded in thirds, the two end panels folding inward over the center panel; lyrics to "Lo feo" ("The ugly thing") are printed separately in English and Spanish on two leaves of brown paper with hand-painted ornamental border in black and tipped in on verso of first and recto of third panels; full-page paper cut-out of a portrait of the poet holding her cat is affixed to second (center) panel, layered over pieces of red fabric and brown paper; under the leaf of English lyrics on first panel is a drawing of a flower hand-painted in watercolor in purple, green, and orange; under the leaf of Spanish lyrics on third panel is a colophon leaf, decorated with a leafy border and the iconic Vigía oil lamp with flame hand-painted in orange; verso of third panel contains a paper pocket with flap, containing a CD audio disc of Teresita Fernández performing "Lo feo" and versions by other artists as well; recto of first panel (front "cover") is decorated with a crocheted spider web in white string, with a paper cut-out of a flower on a long stem woven through the web; painted in purple, green, and orange.
