- Summary
- Contains 55 (11 per issue) full-page half-tone reproductions of photographs, of which 46 are of staged recreations with living models of paintings by various artists or Sarony's own compositions, altered by the photographer with the addition of drawn details. Legend beneath these images: "Photographed from life. Copyright 1895 by Napoleon Sarony." In no. 6-8 there are also one or more "direct copies of paintings by famous European and American artists" (from letterpress at end of no. 6). Five of these have legend: "By permission Maison Ad. Braun & Co."; one has legend "By permission Durand-Ruel"; three others are copyright by the respective artist, Eliot Gregory (2) and Jared Flagg.
