Summary

Close to eighty selected color photographs from the collection of more than 15000 images produced over almost three decades by João Farkas (b. São Paulo 1955) in the town of Trancoso, located in the South coast of Bahia. The images of parties, fisheries, homes, landscapes and, mainly, of the inhabitants of beachside city indicate not the look of a photographer who observes what is exotic, but the perspective of someone who knows the daily lives of the inhabitants, their customs and peculiarities The book includes texts by photographer and journalist Walter Firmo and anthropologist and poet Antonio Risério.
