- Describes business of used bookstores in Mexico during past half century, especially ventures and activities of one dynasty, founded by Ubaldo López Barrientos (author is grandson). Tells history of family's involvement in book trade and describes around 50 existing bookstores involved in same business, profiles their owners and mentions some of their most treasured books. Also includes texts by passionate frequenters of such establishments, by well known writers such as Javier Garciadiego, Vicente Quirarte, Bernardo Esquinca, Luigi Amara, Cristina Pacheco, and others. Illustrated with intriguing photographs of bookshop interiors, their collections, as well as book covers, facsimiles, etc.
