Summary
Two-volume set by author-historian Carlos Herrejón Peredo (b. Michoacán, 1942) on the life and personality of José María Morelos (b. Michoacán, 1765-1815). Morelos was a priest, strategist, and a leader in the war for Mexican independence from Spain. Peredo has compiled iconography, maps, paintings, sketches, and documents in the effort to recreate the time that Morelos lived in and shape so the reader can better understand him, both as the man and the leader.
