Il ricordo la riporta alla fine degli anni cinquanta, a Milano, quando è una giovane donna costretta a lasciare l'università per affacciarsi al mondo del lavoro con la piena consapevolezza di non saper fare nulla di concreto. The beginnings of Sveva Casati Modignani are unbelievable, also because they tell an Italy of the economic boom that no longer exists, where job prospects were very different from today. In this journey into the past, which alternates a scathing lucidity with the tenderness that binds her to loved ones, the author leads the reader to the threshold of her affirmation as a writer, when she publishes her first novel.
