- Programs (1926 - 1973) for The cherry orchard by Anton Chekhov, documenting productions in England, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, in Russian and with English translations by Constance Garnett; J. P. Davis; Stark Young; Eva Le Gallienne; John Gielgud; Ella Wiswell and Earle Ernst; Tyrone Guthrie and Leonid Kipnis; Irene Moore and Sonia Moore's version dedicated to Andrei Voznesensky; and by Avrahm Yarmolinsky, head of the Slavonic Division of The New York Public Library from 1918 to 1955. Of note is Theodore Komisarjevsky's production at the Barnes Theatre (London) commissioned by Philip Ridgeway as part of a series of Russian plays designed for English audiences; three productions by The Moscow Art Theatre (London and New York); Yuri Zavadski's "workshop demonstration" in the Stanislavski Method for The Institute of Advanced Studies in Theatre Arts (N.Y.); and a production with an all-black cast conceived by James Earl Jones for The New York Shakespeare Festival starring Gloria Foster as Madame Ranyevskaya. Includes some regional, college, and university productions.
- Item 9, included in this lot by error, is a program for a production of The Three Sisters at the Yale School of Drama.
- Item 14, a program for the Royal Shakespeare Company's performance at the Aldwych Theatre (London), is bound with a pair of tickets for seats in the Dress Circle.
- Item 20 documents a 1965 production at the John F. Kennedy Theatre, University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, with Bette Midler as the governess Charlotta Ivanova.
