Two of its characters are Mark David Chapman, who murdered John Lennon, and John Hinckley, who attempted to kill Ronald Reagan. - The title Holden refers to the character Holden Caulfield in Catcher in the Rye. Both Chapman and Hinckley owned the book before committing their crimes.
