- Summary
- Scrapbook containing clipped illustrations from books and newspapers (many from Philadelphia newspapers), trade cards, paper game pieces from children's lottery style games, Christmas cards, Valentines, scraps featuring juvenile themes, and tobacco box labels. The themes in the scrapbook are views of nature and buildings in America and Europe, images of children, animals, plants and flowers. The images depict many types and kinds of human activity. The scrapbook features pages from the 1870 calendar of the Home Insurance Company, New York. In addition to various European and American printers and distributors, severak of the imprints on the images are from Philadelphia printers (i.e. Gillin, M'Guigan & Griffin; P.S. Duval, Lith.). Trade cards from the following firms are included: A. C. Yates & Co., Philadelphia; Public Ledger Job Printing Office, Philadelphia; Royal Insurance Company Fire Life, North John Street, Liverpool, and another card listing the same firm with the address, Lombard Street, London. Several leaves from another, smaller (27 cm) scrapbook of Valentines are laid in.

- Of the dated items, the range is from 1863 to 1871. Several of the clipped pieces were taken from works published earlier than 1863.
- Reproductions and prints produced by engraving, wood engraving, lithography, and chromolithography; some of the pieces are gilt and many are embossed. Some collage work is present as images were clipped and pasted into printed paper frames from different sources.
