Note
  • Compiled by The Billy Rose Theatre Division, The New York Public Library.
  • Three reviews of The Minstrel Show Revisited, choreographed by Donald Byrd. A cast of 11 dancers in black face are in a semi-circle and interact with an interlocutor between dances. In the first half of the program Donald Byrd appears as himself and later in blackface and takes part in a Mr. Tambo and Mr.Bones routine. In the second half the tone becomes more serious with transcripts read from investigations of shootings of innocent black people, punctuated by the banging of tambourines. Reviewed Nov. 1, 2015, when the show was presented at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 556 LaGuardia Place, at Washington Square South, New York, N.Y.
  • Reviewed by Gia Kourlasnov in The New York Times, Jose Solis for StageBuddy.com, and by Marina Harass for dancetab.com.
  • A review by Charmaine Warren in The New York Amsterdam News was bound under the title Byrd's Minstrel Show Revisited. See volume B of the *T-NBL+ Collection 2015/16.
