Programs (1913 - 1943) for The post road by Wilbur Daniel Steele and Norma Mitchell documenting the original Broadway production and subsequent regional, amateur, college, and university productions. Of note is a 1935 production at the Lakewood Theatre (Me.) featuring Keenan Wynn and Humphrey Bogart with a half-tone publicity photo of the latter; a 1935 production by Joshua Logan for the County Theatre (Suffern, N.Y.) featuring Jose Ferrer; three productions by different divisions of the Federal Theatre Project.
Some programs for the original Broadway production contain advertising for popular contemporary books including The Forty Days of Musa Dagh by Franz Werfel; Lust for Life by Irving Stone; While Rome Burns by Alexander Woollcott; Little Orvie by Booth Tarkington; and Delay in the Sun by Anthony Thorne.
Some programs for the original Broadway production contain advertising featuring the New York Yankees baseball player, Lou Gehrig.
