Summary

While hiding from bullies in a book store, Bastian Balthazar Bux starts reading a mysterious book with the title "Never Ending Story." In the enchanted world of Fantastica, the plains warrior Atreyu is called upon to save the Childlike Empress. But only Bastian can save the fairy people who live there by fulfilling the prophecy. He is rewarded with the AURYN which grants his wishes. However with each wish he looses his memories of who he is.
