Summary

Presents the life and work of the Colombian artist, based in Costa Rica, Lola Fernández during her career at the University of Costa Rica. Artist Lola Fernández Caballero can be seen in the 29 works that make up the "Apuntes de una vida" exhibition,. The exhibition corresponds to a selection of more than two thousand sketches, drawings and notes that reflect the work that the artist has done throughout her career and that are a complement to her series of artistic research. According to the Mag. Luis Paulino Delgado Jiménez, of the Cultural Extension section of the Vice-Rector of Social Action, the show collects pieces from 1954 to 2000, what could be considered the graphic journal of an artist "She has managed to save her moments of inspiration or answers to interests that she has graphically recorded in more than 2000 drawings and designs that she has carefully compiled. She had never made them public because she considered them to be mere notes, but people who have had the chance to observe them in privacy consider them a valuable treasure. Lola Fernández is a fundamental artist in the history of Costa Rican and Latin American art of the 20th century. For more than 30 years she was a professor at the University of Costa Rica, she has participated in numerous exhibitions in America and Europe and in 1995 he won the National Magon Culture Prize. At present, he continues to dedicate herself to painting both in Costa Rica and in Switzerland.The exhibition "Apuntes de una vida" will remain open until January 16.
