Biography
Julia Reinhardt (nee Smitten) was born in Philadelphia, March 17, 1844, and died in New York City, August 31, 1924, after a long illness. She is buried in the Actors Fund Plot in Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y. On stage, Reinhardt was known for her long acting association with Jane Cowl, with whom she appeared for the first time in David Belasco's The Grand Army Man, about 1907. Off stage, Reinhardt was an important suffragette who spoke many times publicly for equal rights for women and was known for participating in parades, marches, and other events of the era with leading activists for women's suffrage and labor rights.
