- Item 4, a program for a 1919 production at the Empire Theatre (N.Y.) includes a special notice to theatre-goers that "[a]n ordinance just passed by the Board of Aldermen requires that the regular price of each ticket of admission to this theatre shall be printed conspicuously on its face" with a warning about ticket brokers and speculators.
