This mid-career monograph covers more than two decades of London-based Brazilian artist Tonico Lemos Auad's (b.1968) work. Since the late 1990s, Auad has developed a multifarious body of works that probes notions of time, mortality, and repair through the transformation of ordinary materials into remarkably complex images and structures. From his celebrated early series of sculptures made of carpet fluff and drawings on banana skins to his recent focus on textiles and medicinal plants, this publication offers a comprehensive and generously illustrated overview of this singular artist's oeuvre.
