- Summary
- Although artist José Gurvich (Lithuania 1927 - Montevideo, 1974) is best recognized for his figurative works, since his early days at the Torres-García workshop in 1940 until at least a year before his premature death in 1974, he developed an abstract language of geometric structures and non-figurative forms. The selection of drawings and paintings in the catalog illustrate his commitment to abstraction.
