- Depictions of religious rituals and rites practiced by Africans and persons of African descent in the Caribbean, South America and the United States, during the late 1960s to the 1970s. These images, taken by German photographer Leonore Mau, were used as publicity photographs for PPS Galerie F.C. Gundlach, in Hamburg, Germany. In 1980, the Black Emergency Cultural Coalition sponsored a Xangô exhibit, featuring Mau's work, that was held at the Countee Cullen Branch Library of the New York Public Library, in Harlem, New York City.
- Some of the religions depicted include Candomblé, the Xangô cult, and other rituals of the Yoruba and Ewe people. Also included is a portrait of artist Cliff Joseph, one of the co-founders and initial directors of the Black Emergency Cultural Coalition.
