- Images collected by activist Ella Baker (who is not depicted), consisting of a studio portrait of journalist George S. Schuyler (ca. 1930s), a candid shot of Washington, D.C. mayor-elect Marion Barry (1978), a view of civil rights activists singing hand-in-hand during the Voices of the Civil Rights Movement conference at the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C. (1980); and a storefront window displaying an anti-gambling ad featuring a White police officer breaking up a craps game being played by young African American men (1942).
