Note
  • Of note in folder 1 is a broadside printed for the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, in July 1817 announcing a performance of Guy Mannering "for the benefit of Miss Matthews [Sarah Blanche Matthews?] and Mr. Grimaldi," in which both appeared. Joseph Grimaldi sang one of his signature songs, Tipitywitchet.
  • Of note in folder 2 is a special broadside printed for the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, in October 1832, within a month of the death of Walter Scott from typhus, announcing "the commemoration of the Bard of the North" with performances, songs, and pageants in his honor.
  • Of note in folder 7 is a broadside printed for an 1849 production at the Boston Museum that also announces the appearance of "Monsieur [Jean Antoine Joseph] Bihin the celebrated Belgian Giant," with a full-page of "commendatory notices of the press" on the verso.
  • Many programs in this box belong to the Stead and Robinson Locke collections.
