Summary
"Hilma af Klint was a Swedish artist who started to paint in abstract form already in 1906. She systematically presented the complex philosophical ideas, spiritual concepts and religious experiences in physical shapes on the canvas. Unlike her contemporaries Kandinsky and Malevich, af Klint never had disciples or students. Her work only came to public in the late nineteen-eighties, shown in exhibitions in the United States and Northern Europe. The Pinacoteca de São Paulo exhibition is the first time Hilma af Klint's work is being shown in Latin America. Hilma af Klint painted for the future - and the future is now!"-- Back cover.
